Hard work is always worth the reward. Over my career as a educator I have had the humble honor and privilege of being nominated for awards as well as being awarded grants.
Awards
2018-2019
Teacher of the Year
Kranz Junior High
It was an honor to be named Kranz Junior High's "Teacher of the Year." Not only for the recognition from my fellow educators, but this was the first year this school was open.
2018 - 2019
Dickinson Education Foundation
$7,000 Grant Winner
Texas Art in History Project
Congratulations to Nathan Robinson, the Social Studies teacher at Kranz Jr. High on receiving a $1,000 grant! This grant will allow his students to be able to paint their own tiles like the fresco tiles found at Mission San Antonio Valero during the Spanish mission period of Texas History.
2020 - 2021
Dickinson Education Foundation
$3,360 Grant Winner
Education in Action's "Discover Texas Virtual Field Trip"
This grant provided a supplement to what students are learning in Texas History and English class through a virtual trip. Students will follow the battles of the Texas Revolution across the state with virtual stops at The Alamo and San Jacinto Battleground Monument as well as a virtual tour of the Texas Capitol to see where the events of the revolution are commemorated and our law-making process take place. Funds will be used to purchase Discover Texas field trip kits with souvenirs, learning materials, hands-on activities, research journals, and more.
2021 - 2022
Dickinson Education Foundation
$10,000 Grant Winner
This grant will provide every classroom in Dunbar Middle School with a wireless document camera. This allows teachers to utilize the "power zone" more frequently while projecting information to students. Teachers can also allow students to share their work more easily by placing the document camera on a student's desk.
