In our Intro to Drones course addresses the essential concepts of DRONE TECHNOLOGY and includes FLYING ACTIVITIES that are aimed at enhancing student skills and understanding. Student gain skills that can lead them to a career path or future course in drones. For many students this is their first interaction with drones. Students start by learning the basics of how drones work, FAA Regulations, Flight Maps, Mechanics, and final flight. At the end of the course student group complete for the covenant place of Top Drone Team by navigating their drone through a student created obstacle course.

Lesson plans are essential in making sure the content needed is covered. It is important that this exploratory course is both engaging, interactive, and fun for the learners.
Staying on task during this thirty-day course can be a challenge. This calendar was developed in order to help keep us on track and make sure students learn as much as possible in a short time.
Student were given the parameters and supplies and required to create their own final challenge course. After completing the rules and layout students built the course out of PVC pipe, flags, hula-hoops, and a five gallon bucket.
Part of the course is exploration into the different types of drones that exists in the world. After discussing what a drone is students complete their research and chose a drone to present to the class.
The League City Police Department was kind enough to visit with our students and bring their drone. They talked to students about the requirements needed to operate the drone in the police department, how the department uses the drone, and even showed them some video footage of how they can locate suspects.
